HELPING OUR MEMBERS - AND THEIR FAMILIES - REACH THEIR EDUCATION GOALS

Investing in Education for Every Path

Whether you’re an individual member, or you’ve got a child heading into higher education, this scholarship is a way our industry invests in itself. This scholarship, funded through the Texas Water Utilities Association (TWUA), supports members and their dependents in continuing education — no matter what field of study they choose. It’s one of the many ways TWUA gives back to the professionals who keep our communities running.

Who can apply?

You may be eligible if:

  • You are a TWUA member in good standing for at least 12 months before applying, or

  • You are the dependent (child or legal dependent) of a qualifying TWUA member.

You don’t have to work in water or utilities to qualify — the scholarship is open to any field of study or career path.

What the scholarship covers

Funds can be applied toward:

  • Tuition and school fees

  • Books, supplies, or course materials

  • Technical training or certification programs

Scholarship amounts may vary depending on available funds and the number of qualified applicants. Awards are typically split into two payments (fall and spring semesters) after proof of enrollment and grades are submitted.

To make the process smooth, gather:

  • A completed scholarship application form (Download PDF Application Form)

  • Proof of TWUA membership (or your parent’s)

  • Transcripts (high school, GED, or college — whichever applies)

  • Basic information about your chosen school and major

  • (If applying as a dependent) documentation showing dependency and household details

🕒 Deadline: Applications are due January 15 each year (check TWUA’s site for any updated deadlines).

How to apply

  1. Download the Scholarship Application Form.

  2. Complete all sections and attach the required documents.

  3. Submit your packet by mail or email as directed on the form before the deadline.

  4. Keep a copy for your records and follow up to confirm receipt.
